Day 1: Pickup from Kigali and Drive to Akagera National Park
Your driver guide picks you up from your Kigali hotel or the airport in the morning. Enjoy a scenic three hour drive east to Akagera National Park, Rwanda’s only savannah reserve. Arrive in time for lunch, then relax before an afternoon game drive spotting zebras, giraffes, buffalo, rhinos and elephants. Check in and enjoy dinner overlooking the park.- Drive time: Approx. 2–3 hours (with stops)

Day 2: Full Day Game Drive in Akagera National Park
Wake early for a full day exploring Akagera’s diverse ecosystems, including a boat cruise on Lake Ihema where hippos and crocodiles bask along the shores. Continue game viewing across grasslands and woodlands searching for lions, leopards, and abundant birdlife. This park hosts the Big Five, making it one of a rare gems in East Africa. Return to your lodge for dinner and an evening around the campfire.- Meal Plan: Full-Board

Day 3: Drive to Volcanoes National Park
After breakfast, depart Akagera and drive west across Rwanda’s beautiful hills toward Volcanoes National Park in Musanze. The journey takes roughly five hours with stops for photos and lunch along the way. Arrive in the afternoon and check into your lodge nestled beneath the volcanoes. Relax, enjoy the mountain scenery, and rest well before tomorrow’s gorilla trekking adventure. Your guide will brief you on trekking procedures.- Meal Plan: Full Board

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking and Optional Iby’iwacu Cultural Village
Rise early for briefing at the park headquarters before your gorilla trekking adventure through Volcanoes National Park’s forested slopes. Trek through bamboo and vegetation to spend a magical hour observing a mountain gorilla family in their natural habitat. In the afternoon, optionally visit Iby’iwacu Cultural Village to experience traditional Rwandan dance, music, and daily life demonstrations. Return to your lodge for a well earned dinner celebrating this unforgettable day.- Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 5: Return to Kigali for Departure
Enjoy a relaxed breakfast at your lodge before departing Musanze for the drive back to Kigali, approximately two and a half hours. Along the way, stop at local markets or viewpoints for last minute souvenirs and photographs. Arrive in Kigali in time for lunch, with optional visits to the Genocide Memorial or local craft cooperatives before your onward flight or hotel drop off, concluding your Rwandan safari adventure.- Meal Plan: Breakfast & Lunch
