4-Day Mgahinga Gorillas and Mt.Sabyinyo Hike
Mgahinga offers an intimate gorilla experience away from crowds, alongside Mt. Sabyinyo summit hike.
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport or Kigali International Airport, your professional driver-guide will welcome you before briefing you about the safari. You will then set off on a scenic drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, passing rolling hills, rural villages, lush forests, and terraced farmland. Enjoy several stopovers for refreshments, photography, and sightseeing before arriving at your lodge in the evening for dinner and relaxation.
After an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for a gorilla trekking briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. You will then enter the dense rainforest in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family. Depending on the gorillas’ location, the trek may last between two and six hours. Once you find them, spend one magical hour observing their behavior, taking photographs, and appreciating these gentle giants in their natural habitat. After lunch, you may choose to visit the Batwa community. This optional cultural experience introduces you to the traditions, music, dance, and ancient forest survival skills of the indigenous Batwa people. Return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Enjoy breakfast before checking out of your lodge. Begin the return journey to either Entebbe International Airport or Kigali International Airport, depending on your travel arrangements. Along the way, enjoy scenic landscapes and make brief stops for lunch and souvenir shopping if time allows. Your guide will ensure you arrive in time for your departure flight, marking the end of your memorable gorilla trekking adventure in Uganda.
