Day 1: Pickup from Entebbe or Kigali and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Upon your arrival at either Entebbe International Airport or Kigali International Airport, your professional safari guide from Inganzo Safaris will warmly welcome you. After a short briefing, begin your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Guests arriving through Kigali enjoy a shorter drive of approximately 4–5 hours, crossing into Uganda via the Cyanika or Katuna border. Those arriving through Entebbe travel for about 8–9 hours, with several scenic stopovers along the way.

The journey passes through beautiful countryside featuring rolling hills, traditional villages, tea plantations, and terraced farms. Arrive at your lodge in the evening, relax, enjoy dinner, and prepare for the next day’s unforgettable gorilla trekking adventure.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Experience and Transfer to Lake Mutanda

After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for registration and a detailed briefing from Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. You will then enter the ancient rainforest in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family.
The trek can last anywhere between two and seven hours depending on the gorillas’ location. Once found, spend one magical hour observing these gentle giants as they feed, play, groom, and interact naturally within their family group.

Following your trek, receive your official gorilla trekking certificate before returning to the lodge for lunch. Later, drive to the tranquil shores of Lake Mutanda, where stunning volcanic scenery and peaceful surroundings await.

Spend the evening relaxing while enjoying spectacular sunset views across the lake.

Day 3: Relax and Explore Lake Mutanda

Wake up to breathtaking views of Lake Mutanda and enjoy a leisurely breakfast. Today is dedicated to exploring one of Uganda’s most beautiful lakes.

Choose from several optional activities, including:

Traditional dugout canoe ride,
Guided nature walk,
Community village visit,
Bird watching around the lake,

Lake Mutanda offers peaceful surroundings and incredible scenery, making it the perfect place to unwind after the excitement of gorilla trekking.

Return to the lodge for dinner and another relaxing evening overlooking the lake.

Day 4: Transfer to Kigali or Entebbe International Airport

Following breakfast, check out and begin your return journey. Guests departing from Kigali International Airport will enjoy a shorter scenic drive through southwestern Uganda before crossing into Rwanda and continuing to Kigali. Travelers with flights from Entebbe International Airport will drive across Uganda with a lunch stop along the way before arriving later in the day.
